ovum nest & app.
While researching smart cities for an app user flow project, I selected to focus on the health of babies. I discovered that there is a great demand for products to keep baby comfortable, safe, and happy. I realised that there was still a great need in the market for a way to provide better comfort, safety and care that could also prevent SIDS deaths.
The research goal was to create a product that improves the comfort, safety and well-being of babies in future smart cities. The research question addressed how to create a technologically advanced baby product that can replace a crib, stroller, and car seat, while simultaneously tracking a baby’s oxygen level and preventing SIDS.
Ovum is the brand for baby care. The name references the latin root word for egg. The word Hatchling refers to the baby smart pod with hovering capabilities. It also functions as a crib, carseat, play swing, baby camera, and monitor. The Nest refers to the docking station for charging and locking capabilities. It can be locked in transit and while baby is sleeping. Finally, there is a sound proof cover option that also provides oxygen. This will prove important during future pandemics.
